                        Characters

Five persons gone around a city very great and seen every guy met, they looked face and after they asked about their nature; somebody answered and other though and after continued his walk thinking that this person was crazy. A woman stopped other woman and asked: “What is your nature?”, and woman very astonish for this question answered: “I am very polite and sweet, and I love my family. Why do you want know it?”, and Catherine, this is name of person answered: “I am searching a woman is like me. But you aren’t it, thank you”, and woman continued his shopping. Other woman, Sabine, interviewed other woman and asked: “I think that your character is very sweet, or not?”, woman, much bothered, answered: “Not absolutely! I am very nasty and impolite, turd and bastard; if you want so, very well, otherwise you can fuck you!”, and Sabine: “You are perfect! Very perfect!” ,and woman: “I can represent you”, this answer astonished much Sabine, but she answered: “Yes, you can make it now!”, and Catherine while found other woman and she asked: “You are very beautiful and very vain, you can certainly be me and I can be you, what do you think?”, and woman that was very vain, answered: “Yes, I can be you and perfectly performance you when I want do it; therefore I will be you!”. Elisabeth also made same thing and she found her character; so Helen found her person and finally Delia found a woman that was intelligent and intellectual, and she known Latin and ancient Greek and philosophy and history, and she wanted work to low; therefore, she was Public Prosecutor; then everybody has had her character. Valery talked: “We can be these characters because we can performance these persons in theatre, since we are alone character and we found our correspondent in reality. A woman that would be model to character answered: “Contrary beloved Delia, we are your character and you are models” and Delia asked: “This is theatre and this is choreography”, and woman: “No absolutely, this is reality and we are alone characters, therefore you must sit and you must look us, because we will performance you, and you that are character will be model to reality”, and Delia asked: “Why?”, and woman: “Because you are character then false person, but we are reality and we are most false than you; it is that happens in reality; therefore you are most reality than us, because you are a reality, a fiction, then you have a reality, a role, on contrary we are searching models to live therefore we are everybody and nobody. Now you can sit and you can look this performance.” Light were turn off and recital started.

The first painting of Girolamo Siciolante and a homage of 17th century

I have seen this painting(Figg.1-6), with Immaculate conception, commission of Caetani family, and once in church of saint Mary of Conception, Sermoneta, today restored for will of don Leonard Mary Pompei, parish priest of Sermoneta. I have given back this painting much time ago and now, I confirm this opinion, because every stylistical character remembers Girolamo Siciolante(1521-1575): the hands of Virgin are mirror to hands of a female figure in Birth of Adonis(Fig.2), the nose is similar, and cloth is mirror to second painting of Girolamo, Virgin, Child and saints Stephan and Pieter(Fig.3),Caetani castle in Sermoneta, same density of cloth and same pleats, same cloth that we find again in mentioned painting (Fig.4); it is character that will best to other paintings, but I consider this work of Siciolante because this painting was considered by Giorgio Vasari as one of first painting that Siciolante worked; but interesting to my hypothesis is the words of Vasari, in fact he used plural and he said: “Among first paintings that he worked alone..”, I repeat, Vasari uses plural “first paintings”, therefore beyond painting for Caetani, he has worked other painting, may before this painting to Caetani; then this painting with Immaculate conception(Fig.1) can be the first, and second is painting to abbey of Valvisciolo(Fig.4), now in Caetani castle; and considering stylistical character, certainly this painting is first, because these characters are very next to second painting(Fig.4). Homage that I mentioned is on contrary by other painter that has worked in Sermoneta this is Bernardino Cesari(1565-1621), brother of most famous Cavalier d’Arpino, Bernardino worked some painting in choir of cathedral of Sermoneta(Fig.5), and he certainly took idea to composition by a painting of Siciolante this is The birth of Virgin(Fig.6) in Fugger chapel at church of saint Mary of Soul, Rome, Italy; in fact composition is very similar, we must consider that Bernardino has had a wall very long, on contrary Siciolante has had very small space, therefore Bernardino could enlarge scene, but similar is composition: the bed is same, door on left, on first plane figures are together with one on left, one figure is kneeled down on right, and same position has woman on middle, one woman on left as painting of Sermoneta; this painting of Siciolante has suggested composition to Bernardino that wanted give homage to Siciolante because costumer was Alessandro Americi, from Sermoneta that wanted this paintings at 1603.

It is increasing catalogue:Vincenzo Fabrici
On the vault of sacristy of cathedral of Sermoneta are some painting, that now are not ascribed by critical studies, but I think for stylistical motives that these painting are certainly of Vincenzo Fabrici; I have considered this painter some time and I have ascribed some painting, and now I give back to Fabrici these painting because it are, may, first work in Sermoneta; in fact stylistical nature of Fabrici is very youthful and he, now, anticipates his stylistical culture, that he adopted to other painting in Sermoneta; anyway first document to Fabrici is a payment at 1759 in Sermoneta, to a painting and style is very better in confront of these painting; but some particular let that we consider both age and autography of Fabrici: then eyebrow as flowing hair of saint John(Fig.1) are equal to Christ blessing in Diocesan Museum of Sermoneta(Fig.2), although better to quality, it is equal to other blowing hair this is, other Christ blessing in Cori(Fig.3) and other painting in same cathedral of Sermoneta with other Christ(fig.4); every Christ is equal to eyebrow, the noses are equal to all painting, although to later painting is better, but essential character is same, rightness and long. Therefore all paintings are paternal attribution and this is interesting because catalogue of a painter, unknown, now has some work, because also other painting on same vault as saint Mark and saint Matthew(Figg.5-7), that are same hand.
