Logbook

With read of White jacket of Melville we know so much argument of board and so much particular around to vessels, but origin of this description, that for Melville become romance, is true description of life of vessel, with behavior and town of vessel; but it is alone life of Melville who passed so much time of his life on vessel, and therefore this isn’t alone romance but a logbook, that shows what is life on navy, he took from catalogue of his memory and translated in a tales his memories, he invents noting because all is present in his memory, in his mind is all, this is his experience as seaman, and he shows his life on board and describes this, without to seek around or to invent, he has all present when he writes, it is a human phenomenon, this is all we have seen and we unconscious keep in mind, it raises again when we must use something that is bonded with this matter, that Melville translated is a catalogue of navy and his life, we not read a book of Melville but his life; this romance is very boring because he tells alone fragments that haven’t follow, but he shows that is life on navy, his life.

Diario di bordo

Con la lettura di Giacchetta Bianca di Melville, noi conosciamo argomenti di marina e molti particolari delle navi, ma l’origine della descrizione , che per Melville diventa romanzo, resta una descrizione  della vita della nave, con la descrizione degli atteggiamenti e dei luoghi della nave; ma questa è soltanto la vita di Melville che trascorse  molto tempo sulle navi, lui prese dal catalogo della sua memoria il materiale e lo tradusse in racconto, lui non inventa nulla, e mostra la vita a bordo senza cercare intorno o inventare, ha già tutto nella memoria quando scrive, un fenomeno umano cioè tutto ciò che noi vediamo inconsciamente  lo teniamo nella memoria  e questo riaffiora quando dobbiamo usare questo per qualche motivo, che ora Melville traduce in un catalogo della sua vita marinara e della sua vita, quindi noi non leggiamo  un libro di Melville ma la sua vita; questo romanzo è davvero noioso, perché racconta soltanto frammenti  che non hanno seguito, ma Melville mostra la sua vita sulle navi.
