Roxana or the catharsis

Other chapter of literature of De Foe is romance Lady Roxana, that tells how are adventure and unlucky of Roxana who has married and she fallen in misery with five sons that she must give to parish, and during her life she will has other sons, somebody died, but she has a life between high and down, she know misery and richness, sorrow and happy, and above all she know men very availability and readies to love hers. But this history is umpteenth document of fortune of merchant, certainly for first look isn’t connection, but if we consider very well, De Foe was also merchant, and often business of a merchant is determined by fortune; Robinson Crusoe is lucky because he managed went way from island and after he find again his richness, but when he was in island had made for improve his condition, Captain Jack, other romance of De Foe, Jack lives also with crime, but try survive and he get richness for his job, and also he by misery to richness, for crime and job, Moll Flanders same ascent from misery to richness, is also a catharsis romance that hides also a Cristian message, with free choose we can get beautiful condition, but is also the celebration of human spirit, this is that force that press man for great destinies, and Roxana wants go out by this misery condition therefore she administrates her body, her qualities and her fortune, also with crimes that she had made, today we judge it as execrable but when misery is important also honesty is very small important; therefore for De Foe with job and fortune we can manage very important result.

Roxana ovvero la catarsi

Un altro capitolo della letteratura di De Foe è Lady Roxana che racconta le avventure e le sventure di Roxana e cade in miseria con cinque figli, che deve dare alla parrocchia, e durante la sua vita lei avrà ancora altri figli, qualcuno morirà, e lei ha una vita che si destreggia fra alti e bassi, conosce la miseria e la ricchezza, il dolore e la felicità, e soprattutto conosce uomini disposti e pronti ad amarla. Ma questo romanzo è l’ennesimo esempio della fortuna del mercante; certamente ad un primo sguardo non esiste connessione, ma considerando davvero bene, De Foe era anche un mercante, e spesso i guadagni di un mercante sono determinati anche dalla fortuna; Robinson Crusoe gestisce la sua uscita dall’sola e dopo ritrova la sua ricchezza, ma quando è ancora sull’isola lui migliora la sua condizione con il lavoro; il Capitano Jack, altro romanzo di De Foe, Jack live anche con il crimine, ma riesce anche a sopravvivere e a riprendere le sue ricchezze; Moll Flanders, la stessa ascesa  dalla miseria alla ricchezza; quindi si tratta anche di un romanzo catartico, che nasconde un messaggio cristiano, con la libera scelta noi possiamo raggiungere una condizione ideale, ma è anche la celebrazione dello spirito umano, ossia la forza che sollecita l’uomo verso grandi destini, e Roxana vuole uscire dalla sua misera condizione, quindi amministra il suo corpo, le sue qualità e la sua fortuna, anche con i crimini che lei ha compiuto; oggi noi giudichiamo come esecrabili questi crimini, ma nella miseria anche l’onestà diviene relativa; quindi per De Foe con il lavoro noi possiamo raggiungere risultati importanti.
